Becoming a lawyer is a dream of many students, but they still get confused about law courses, a career in the law sector, etc. The aspirants who want to pursue Law as a profession have two options i.e., opting 5 years integrated course after 12th & opting 3 years course after graduation. Here, we'll talk about 5-years integrated course after 12th.


Law is the most integral part of the constitution and, so is law education. Therefore, students want to start their academic career early, and so they lean towards integrated law courses as that enhances their business skills along with the expertise in the field. 

Integrated Law courses are a 5-year course, which consists of a total of 10 semesters. It focuses on basic graduation level programs along with the core law knowledge and includes both theoretical and practical sessions like court attendance and training at legal aid centres. By taking an integrated course, an aspirant can save one year and can simultaneously study for two degrees at one time. A candidate who has passed the 12th standard is eligible to apply for the course, but he must have achieved at least 50% marks in 10th & 12th standard to get an admission in a reputed university. Some universities give admission based on merit list while some give admission on the basis of entrance exams like CLAT, LSAT, and NLSIU. 

 There aren't any restrictions regarding the stream that a student hail from. So, a student from any stream, be it commerce, science, or arts can study Law. Integrated law courses are nothing but a combination of two-degree programs i.e., one is LLB & the other may vary as per the student's interest.
