Gujarat- A cultural and industrial hub



Gujarat is a state that is popular for its rich heritage across the world. Its rich heritage is embedded with a lot of jaw-dropping historical monuments and sites. You’ll be really surprised to know that our Garvi Gujarat has more than 200 total heritage attractions. All these places reflect the grand history and varied cultures of ancient times. Let’s have a look at some brightest facts of this Garvi Gujarat.

UNESCO world heritage sites in Gujarat

At present, India has around 36 UNESCO world heritage sites with 2 in our own state. Rani Ni Vav has been declared as one of such UNESCO world heritage sites in Gujarat. Situated in Patan, on the banks of river Saraswati, this step well was built in the 11th century in the Maru-Gurjara architectural style which still reflects its complex and beautiful details of carvings. Another UNESCO world heritage site is Champaner-Pavagadh Archaeological Park. This park is a great mix of different heritage buildings from various kings, eras and faiths. Structures here perfectly reflect the blend of Hindu and Muslim architecture.

The land of Gandhi and Sardar

This Garvi Gujarat has also given the world, great national heroes such as Gandhiji and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Birthplaces of both these legends- Porbandar and Nadiad respectively have a great Gujarati cultural heritage. Kirti Mandir in Porbandar, Gandhi Museum in Rajkot as well as Sabarmati Ashram and Sardar Patel Museum in Ahmedabad, have a lot to say about the lives of these two legends. And now, this list has one more addition- Statue of Unity which is the world’s tallest statue with 182m height.

The Industrial hub

Apart from our cultural and historical heritage, Gujarat also has a great contribution to the national economy. If you look at the biggest industrial hubs, you would find several names here- Reliance, Mundra Port, Morbi (ceramic and clock manufacturing hub), Bavla (Pharma hub) and more. There is one more name in this list- Jamnagar which is known for their mechanical part manufacturing. Ahmedabad was once a great textile hub but it hasn’t remained the same today.

The education hub

If you compare the education quality and employment status of today and before some decades in Gujarat, you’d realise the great upsurge. With outstanding international-level educational institutes, the quality of education has awesomely grown well. Some major education institutes include IIM Ahmedabad, IIT Gandhinagar, NID Ahmedabad, CEPT, EDI Gandhinagar and more. Marwadi University in Rajkot is the only NAAC A+ institute in Gujarat which is also a matter of great pride.
