Gujarat- A cultural and industrial hub
Gujarat
is a state that is popular for its rich heritage across the world. Its rich
heritage is embedded with a lot of jaw-dropping historical monuments and sites.
You’ll be really surprised to know that our Garvi Gujarat has more than 200 total
heritage attractions. All these places reflect the grand history and varied cultures
of ancient times. Let’s have a look at some brightest facts of this Garvi
Gujarat.
UNESCO world heritage sites in Gujarat
At
present, India has around 36 UNESCO world heritage sites with 2 in our own
state. Rani Ni Vav has been declared as one of such UNESCO world heritage sites
in Gujarat. Situated in Patan, on the banks of river Saraswati, this step well was built in the 11th
century in the Maru-Gurjara architectural style which still reflects its
complex and beautiful details of carvings. Another UNESCO world heritage site is
Champaner-Pavagadh Archaeological Park. This park is a great mix of different
heritage buildings from various kings, eras and faiths. Structures here perfectly
reflect the blend of Hindu and Muslim architecture.
The land of Gandhi and Sardar
This
Garvi Gujarat has also given the world, great national heroes such as Gandhiji
and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Birthplaces
of both these legends- Porbandar and Nadiad respectively have a great Gujarati cultural
heritage. Kirti Mandir in Porbandar, Gandhi Museum in Rajkot as well as Sabarmati
Ashram and Sardar Patel Museum in Ahmedabad, have a lot to say about the lives of these two legends. And now, this list
has one more addition- Statue of Unity which is the world’s tallest statue with
182m height.
The Industrial hub
Apart
from our cultural and historical heritage, Gujarat also has a great contribution
to the national economy. If you look at the biggest industrial hubs, you would find
several names here- Reliance, Mundra Port, Morbi (ceramic and clock
manufacturing hub), Bavla (Pharma hub) and more. There is one more name in this
list- Jamnagar which is known for their mechanical part manufacturing.
Ahmedabad was once a great textile hub but it hasn’t remained the same today.
The education hub
If
you compare the education quality and employment status of today and before
some decades in Gujarat, you’d realise the great upsurge. With outstanding international-level
educational institutes, the quality of education has awesomely grown well. Some
major education institutes include IIM Ahmedabad, IIT Gandhinagar, NID
Ahmedabad, CEPT, EDI Gandhinagar and more. Marwadi University in Rajkot is the only NAAC A+ institute in Gujarat which is also a
matter of great pride.
Let
us all together, preserve this great heritage of Gujarat!
