MCA and M.Sc. IT both are the most prominent courses in the field of Computers and IT industry. However, many IT aspirants are confused about whether to choose MCA or M.Sc. IT. And so, in this article, I have discussed MCA and M.Sc. IT course in detail to assist you in making the wise choice. 


Master of Computer Application (MCA) and Master of Science in Information Technology (M.Sc. IT) both the courses are very prevalent in the field of IT and Computers. MCA and M.Sc. IT both are the worthwhile career choices for those IT aspirants who are looking for lucrative job opportunities. 

However, many aspirants are confused when it comes to choosing one of these courses. And that happens because they are unaware of the difference between both of them. To build a successful career, one need to make a wise choice of selecting one of the courses, that stands right for them.

Master of Computer Application

Generally pursued after BCA, MCA is a 2-year postgraduate programme. The course focuses on the expansion of applications and software skills in the field of computers. The topics of the programme aim to expand application software. 

Through this programme, students will learn to implement programming, designing and IT skills. They will attain detailed knowledge of web solutions, data processing, system designing, web designing, application development, software development etc. 

MCA course is more in-depth and expensive than M.Sc. course. Also, in an MCA course, student study management modules as well, so getting an advantage. MCA stands to be a more specific course.
