Marwadi University is a private university located in Rajkot, Gujarat, which was instituted in 2016. The main objective of MU is to provide its students with a holistic experience so that they can achieve success not only in their academic & professional careers but also in their overall life. The government of Gujarat has developed a policy for assisting students with their Start-up's ideas. The main aim of this SSIP (STUDENT START-UP AND INNOVATION POLICY) is to create a multicultural, state-wide, university-based innovation ecosystem to support young students' ideas & innovations, and provide them with a favourable environment for the optimum implementation of their creative undertaking. 

 

Objective of SSIP Scheme:

· To create a student-centric environment for their creativity to flourish.

· To create an end-to-end support system in educational institutions to allow ample assistance to the student's ideas for better execution.

· To Create and facilitate sectoral and regional innovation efforts in the state and around educational institutions.

· To create a public platform for students to showcase, support, and upscale their innovations and motivating stakeholders. 

 

SSIP Scheme Details

Eligibility:

· This scheme is eligible only for students.

· Any individual/ group of selves having innovative ideas/concepts are eligible.

· One must submit the project details on the SSIP portal.

· Universities/ education institutions, Incubation Centre/ PSUs/ R&D Institutions/ Private and other establishments will be eligible as an institution to support and mentor to innovators as approved by Committee.

Prototyping:

· Projects that are at PoC level or beyond can be provided with the maximum financial support of Rs 2Lakhs.

· The selected projects must not be getting support elsewhere.

· The projects will be approved by the University level Start-up Committee.

Patent:

· University can only approve the patent of Rs 25,000 per national patent filling including government fees.

· You can take up your request to the State Level SSIP Committee for the requirement of more than Rs 25,000.

· The application will be approved by the IPR Scrutiny Committee, and final approval will be taken from the University Level Start-up Committee.

· Innovator and Mentor has to follow the Marwadi University IPR Policy
