About the Conference:

The first INDICON Conference was organised by IEEE Kharagpur section on 22-24 December 2004 to give an insight into the fields of Computer Science Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Electronics & Communication Engineering. Since then, this conference is held every year across India.

INDICON 2019 is a major annual conference held by IEEE India Council. The event is a metamorphic version of the Annual Convention and Exhibition (ACE). It was the annual meeting of IEEE India Council. It will be held from December 13 to December 15 at Marwadi University campus, Rajkot, Gujarat. The theme is, ‘Applying artificial intelligence in engineering for prosperity and betterment of humanity’.

Since its inception, the conference has grown immensely and has gained international attention as well. Many participants across the globe are a part of the conference.

Events to be held:

The conference will host a number of events that will prove to be beneficial for participants. The events are designed in such a way that participants utilise most of their time, gain knowledge and learn new skillsets.

Here’s the list of events to be held at INDICON 2019:

1) Tutorials:

There will be two tutorials in INDICON 2019. Participants can participate in them and gain practical knowledge in the field of Computer Science Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Electronics & Communication Engineering. They are scheduled for December 13, 2019.

Tutorial 1: Unobtrusive sensing for Health: This tutorial will be presented by Avik Ghose from TCS Research & Innovation. It will give a brief overview of the current state of the art for unobtrusive or standoff sensing specifically for the healthcare domain. It will also provide a roadmap of these technologies in near future.

In simple words, it will give a brief of technologies like Human Radar, VOC, Single-point camera, etc. that gives biosignals and provide valuable sensing inputs. The duration of the tutorial is 2 hours and participants from medical/engineering backgrounds must attend it. Know more about it here.

Tutorial 2: Edge Intelligence in the Internet of Things: This tutorial will be given by N. Venkatesh from Redpine Signals, Inc. The tutorial will explain how IoT devices with Edge intelligence are architected and built. It will provide a good foundation for the concepts involved in low power connectivity and computation.

Participants must be researchers/engineers working in the Computer science domain. The ones with specialisation in Networking technologies, Machine learning, Cloud computing or Artificial intelligence will be preferred. The duration of the tutorial will be 3 hours.

2) Accepted Workshops:

INDICON 2019 will host two workshops. They are:

Workshop 1: Deep Learning Applications Design, Development and Deployment in IoT Edge: The workshop will be conducted by Dr. Jayakumar Rinanu, a veteran in semiconductor electronics. The duration will be full day and it can be attended by Engineers or Engineering college teaching staff.

Workshop 2: Blockchain and Cryptocurrency: The workshop will be conducted by Dr. Adarsh Kumar, Associate professor of Computer Science at University of Petroleum and Engineering Studies, Dehradun. The duration will be half-day and it can be attended by students, research scholars, staff, and faculty members who are interested in Cybersecurity.
